Program Notes
Four Thoughts is a collection of piano pieces that explore different ways the mind thinks. Each movement experiments with a different type of thought process. Originally composed as a set of 8 miniatures, these four pieces have been extracted from the larger collection and greatly expounded upon.
Notes
“Cogitation” was written for the Brevard Music Center Piano Etude Project and was premiered at the BMC Piano Etude Concert on July 28, 2022, at 1:00 in Parker Concert Hall at the Brevard Music Center by Jack Allen.
The other movements were written for Eli Diersing and the Indianapolis Ballet, where they were choreographed and premiered in November 2023.
