Program Notes

“Empyrean Windows” was composed in the spring of 2021. Originally written for the organ at Broadway United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, IN, this piece is meant to reflect on our understanding of the heavens. We know what it is too look up to the heavens with wonder, and we even know what it is to look down from the heavens, but no living soul knows what it is to look down from the Empyrean.
