Zavac’s “Fringe” for Horn Trio Wins Honorable Mention in the International Horn Society Composition Contest

The International Horn Society awarded Zavac an Honorable Mention prize in the 2022 Composition Contest in the Virtuoso Division for his composition, “Fringe.” The piece was then exhibited at the International Horn Symposium in Montreal in July of 2023.

Brevard Music Center Orchestra (7/31/2022)

The world premiere of Zavac’s “Convulsions” for orchestra (2021) will be on July 31st, 2022 at Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium in Brevard, NC during the Soloists of Tomorrow concert under the direction of Maestro Keith Lockhart.

Brevard Music Center Summer Institute New Music Ensemble (7/17/2021)

The premiere of Zavac’s wind quintet piece, “Robespierre Feeds the Flies” (2021) at the first of two new music ensemble concerts at the 2021 Brevard Music Center Festival in Brevard, NC. Saturday, 7/17/2021 at 2:00 in Thomas Hall.

Indianapolis Organ Festival (2/21/2021)

Pre-recorded at Meridian Street United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, IN, and released on Sunday, February 21st at 4:30pm. Zavac’s piece, “Tranquility at Last” (2019), received its world premiere by organist Raina Wood.
